Happy Easter you guys! What does this day mean to you? Got any good Easter stories? Let's say the resurrection of Jesus is true...what would that mean to you? What if it did not happen? What would that mean for you?

My Easter memories are of early morning hunts for plastic eggs in the back yard with my brother, Chad and our black lab, Scooter. Most years, I was sporting little pink sponge rollers in my hair because Easter was the one day in which I was not allowed to protest my mom curling my hair and putting me in a dress with lace and flowers on it.
ReplyDeleteI say the resurection is true and because I believe it's true, my life has meaning. I won't say I can fathom why the God of the universe loves me or why He'd bother to be interested in my daily mutterings or overall well-being, but He is and I'm so grateful.
If the resurection weren't true, I'd indulge every selfish desire. I'd seek to acquire as much wealth as possible. I'd be the nastiest, most aggressive driver on the road. I'd force my way to the front of the line and demand my rights to every good thing I consider myself entitled to. Why not? If this life is as good as it gets, then I'd be living it large.
Funny thing is that the more I think about the ramifications of the resurection, the more I want to understand and honor God. -And the more I seek to do that, the larger my life gets. On my own, I doubt I could ever have achieved more than mediocre.
I do think I live large...but not because I'm entitled to. Living large has shifted in my mind from having more stuff to being a person of substance. -And it's not a temporary thing. Because of the resurection, what happens here has eternal significance.
BTW - I don't believe for a second there will be any pink sponge rollers or frilly dresses in heaven. Whew!
LOL! i agree that if the resurrection is true we live life large in a new, refreshing, and 'larger' way. I am so glad this life is not as good as it gets! This is just the appetizer!!!
